Smart Crowds is a HIT - Hub Innovazione Trentino initiative. HIT is a consortium between Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Fondazione Edmund Mach, Trentino Sviluppo, and the University of Trento.  The mission of HIT is to maximize innovation opportunities for the Trentino region by supporting entrepreneurship and fostering technology transfer between academic research and businesses.

Goal of Smart Crowds is to involve citizens in the research and innovation of high-tech products and services. Citizens can volunteer to test prototypes of ICT technologies (e.g. an innovative mobile app) or actively participate in their conception and design.

 

Citizens can register to Smart Crowds and then decide in which project they want to participate, according to their own interests. The Smart Crowds staff will then select the right people to involve depending on the needs of each project. Currently, our community counts almost 2000 people.

 

Some projects are led by HIT - Hub Innovazione Trentino, while others by research centers, startups, SMEs or other public or private actors interested in innovating in a Living Lab context.
